I was lucky enough to make this lovely wedding cake for a beautiful couple this weekend. Loved the design they had asked for, such elegant colours on the outside which nicely contrasted with the deep red velvet inside 😍. Special thanks to who were kind enough to offer some of their beautiful florals on the day!

So gutted I didn’t take a final picture of this cake with its cake toppers, but I thought I’d post a) for the grid and b) because there is something so classy about a simplistic cake, even without the fans and pampas (although the plant behind pretty much looks like a cake topper in all my photos)

The request here was to make a cake that incorporated pinks, reds and whites and florals. To be totally honest, I was initially stumped with how I would incorporate reds and pinks together as I felt like one could potentially clash with the other. Funnily enough, it wasn’t until I put smoother to buttercream that the idea of having diagonal florals with all the colours came to mind. Not trying to sound poetic but I loved the chaos of the buttercream paired with the elegance and uniformity of the flowers (mic drop) 🎤

Another palette knife cake. I never really thought of a cake as a blank canvas but I definitely do now! Being able to decorate a cake freehand without too much planning ahead is scary but so satisfying when you take a step back and see what you’ve created 🖌🧑‍🎨
