I thought it was about time l showed my face around here! 😁
Hello! 👋 How's your weekend shaping up?
I'm Sarah, the owner and creator of Sarah's Kitchen
Creations. I have to be honest l'm pretty surprised to be on this journey. It's definitely not something I ever imagined I'd be doing! 😁 But I'm loving it. And all the time that it feels right, I'm just gonna keep on walking towards it.
You may or may not know, but I was a photographer for about 12 ish years. I've had fashion work published - a few front covers and some international publications among others, I've worked on film sets, photographed weddings, you name it, l've done most things. I opened my first studio in Lewes in February of 2020... 🙈... managed 5 weeks until Covid hit.
Ah well 😄
Fast forward a bit and I found myself living in Eastbourne, single, with a new start ahead. Needed a day job to pay the bills while I figured out what direction I was gonna go next. So I got a job at a rather nice supermarket working in the delivery department and taking people their shopping. I'm still doing that, it's a fun job and you get to meet lots of people and chat and make friends. I enjoy it! It also keeps me fit! It's a win win.
Anyway.. I've always been a bit of a foodie I guess, and working with nice food every day got me thinking about the kind of food I like to eat. I'm a bit of a fusspot 😁 I like what I like and I won't apologise for it 🤷
So much food is just so disappointing these days. Or maybe I've just become fussier with age 😉
So l started making cakes and taking them into work, the response I was getting was usually something like "This is amazing! You could sell this!"
And here I am, a year or so later. I'm just about to finish a course in Nutrition & Health, my hygiene inspection is at the end of the month, l've got orders coming in.. life is pretty great! 🥰
I've got BIG plans for this little business of mine, not just cakes.. savoury things too, but I'm just taking it one step at a time.
I made this happen, all by myself, and l've gotta tell you, that I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm not a trained chef, never worked in a kitchen, but I'm doing it. And that feels great.
