We’re looking forward to welcoming Ordinariate members and friends to the 2026 Ordinariate Festival which is being held in Eastbourne from Tuesday. Come and hear Prof David Clayton talk on 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆, 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, and worship with us at Mass and the daily Offices. The Solemnity of Our Lady of Walsingham

From Richeldis' vision in 1061, through the trials of the Reformation, to the restoration of the Catholic Shrine and the founding of our Ordinariate in 2011, this feast carries the whole of that story with it. Today we give thanks to God for the Mother He gave us, and for the countless prayers offered at England's Nazareth through the centuries.

Small as we are, we are part of something old, faithful, and still very much alive. Happy feast day to all our brothers and sisters in the Ordinariate.

O Mary, recall the solemn moment when Jesus, thy Divine Son, dying on the Cross, confided us to thy maternal care. Thou art our Mother, we desire ever to remain thy devout children. Let us, therefore, feel the effects of thy powerful intercession with Jesus Christ. Make thy Name again glorious in that place once renowned throughout our land by thy visits, favours, and many miracles. Pray, O Holy Mother of God, for the conversion of England, restoration of the sick, consolation for the afflicted, repentance for sinners, and peace to the departed. O blessed Mother of God, O Lady of Walsingham, intercede for us. Amen.

This Sunday, Fr Neil is away leading the parish pilgrimage to Poland, and we welcome Fr Nicholas Leviseur from Saint Anselm's Roman Catholic Church in Pembury to celebrate Mass.

Jesus told his disciples this parable, ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard. After agreeing with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. He did the same at the third, sixth, ninth and eleventh hours. And at the end of the day he paid them. When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house. But he replied to one of them, “Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?” So the last will be first, and the first last.’

Who is the Ordinariate actually for?

It's a bigger family than people often assume. You may be able to join us if:

⭐You're coming from outside the Catholic Church altogether and want to become Catholic.
⭐You're a cradle Catholic who never completed your Sacraments of Initiation, and want to complete them through the Ordinariate, a path Pope Francis opened in 2013.
⭐You've already completed your sacraments, but you marry an Ordinariate member, or a close family member (a child baptised within an Ordinariate group, for instance) becomes one.
⭐You're already Catholic, received via a diocese, but came from the Anglican tradition originally: you're still welcome to join the Ordinariate now.

And if none of these quite fit, but you've found a home in one of our groups, you don't have to stay on the outside: speak to your local pastor about becoming an Associate Member.

The Ordinariate Festival returns from 13th to 15th October 2026, hosted this year by Christ the King Church in Eastbourne.

This year's theme is Beauty, Truth, and Goodness: exploring what it means to evangelise through beauty, not as an end in itself, but because beauty has the power to lead us to God. We are privileged to have talks from David Clayton, Dean of the School of Sacred Art at Pontifex University, and author of The Way of Beauty; as well as Andrew Goldstein of The Vigil Project.

Every year we gather our whole community together for fellowship, worship, and unity. Wherever you belong within the Ordinariate, this is your festival too.
