The new home of The Mann's Vegan Scran. We've even got a little seating area you can book to have afternoon tea in!

We're a 100% vegan and gluten-free bakery based right in the heart of Durham City, in Durham Markets historic indoor market hall.

SNACK RACK RESTOCK 🍫

I've just done a big restock of all the random vegan and gluten-free goodies that I get ridiculously excited about and then force everyone else to try 😅

If you've not spotted it before, the snack rack is basically home to all the stuff that's either hard to find locally or that I stumbled across and immediately thought, "Right, we need this in The Nook."

New/restocked bits include:

🍫 Ombar snack bars...We've got the Pistachio Cream and Peanut Butter Oat M!lk flavours back in.

🥜 Pip & Nut peanut butter cups and protein bars are fully topped up again.

🐣 Chicky Eggs are back, this time in packets.

🍪 NEW IN - Stroop Club vegan + gluten-free stroopwafels.
..I'm literally eating a stroopwafel while writing this and it's exactly what a stroopwafel should be. Proper chewy caramel middle. Absolutely no notes.

Also...

🍫 The Otherly chocolate range is fully stocked again too, including Birthday Cake, Salted Caramel and Sea Salt.

☕ Dandies mini marshmallows are still here for anyone wanting to take their Higgy hot chocolate to the next level.

🥤 Drinks have had a restock too: • Counter Culture kombucha • Grass & Co nootropic drinks • Glass bottles of still and sparkling water

Honestly, the hardest part of stocking the snack rack is not eating half of it before it reaches the shelf.

Nobody talks about this side of running a bakery.

Not the cakes. Not the markets. Not the pretty photos.

Just eight aprons emerging from a wash cycle having somehow formed a single, sentient textile organism.

For the record, they all went in tied individually.

They untied themselves, ignored my efforts entirely, and have re-emerged as one giant apron-based friendship bracelet.

30 minutes of untangling ahead. 🫠

Morning beautiful lovelies 🌅

I’ve brought something rather special back from my weekend pop-up wanderings…

✨ Hygge (pronounced “Hyoo-gah”) Hot Chocolate ✨

A rich, indulgent hot chocolate that everyone can enjoy — it’s vegan AND gluten free 💛

And honestly? It’s absolutely delicious 🤤

They’re made locally by a small team based in Heighington Village near Darlington, so we’re really chuffed to be supporting them.

If you’re passing, pop in and give it a try. If you love it as much as we think you will, we’ll be keeping it on as a regular supplier 🫶

Morning lovelies!

Yes, I went missing last week. It was mine and Mylo’s birthdays and, honestly, I chose cake and days off over Instagram — I have zero regrets! 🙈

We're back to normal this week, and there’s now a birthday cake on the counter (for now... 😂).

Vanilla sponge, vanilla bean buttercream, raspberry jam, sprinkles, freeze-dried raspberries. It’s a bit nice 🤤

Fully gluten free. 100% vegan.

Allergens: ALMONDS (tree nuts)

It will go. Plan accordingly.

The story of the Scotch "egg" that broke my brain a bit 😅

I didn’t stop making them because I didn’t care…

I stopped because I do care — about doing this sustainably, properly, and without burning out.

Vegan + gluten-free isn’t just a swap.

It’s rebuilding food from the ground up.

And sometimes that means hard decisions.

BUT… I’m curious 👀

Right… for everyone who’s obsessed with our cinnamon buns 👀

Same soft, sticky buns you already love… but swirled with chocolate hazelnut and just a bit ridiculous tbh.

Don’t worry — the OG cinnamon buns are on today too (obviously).

So yeah… you can absolutely justify one of each 😌

A quiet, slow-down kind of cake — soft, gently sweet, with little warm pops of pink peppercorn.
