☕ A Wee Update from Spectrum Coffee

We wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a small change to some of our prices.

As Spectrum has grown, we’ve now reached the point where we need to register for VAT. While this is a positive milestone for the business, it does mean that 20% VAT now has to be paid on many of the products we sell.

We’ve spent a lot of time looking at our pricing and have worked hard to keep increases as small as possible. Rather than making big changes across the board, we’ve tried to absorb as much of the cost as we can while still keeping Spectrum sustainable.

As many of you know, Spectrum Coffee isn’t just a coffee shop. Every coffee, cake and toastie helps us provide opportunities, work experience and support for neurodivergent young people and members of our community who may need a helping hand.

The reality is that without making some adjustments, we’d be paying that VAT bill directly from money that would otherwise be invested back into our projects and programmes.

We’re incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to support us. Your custom genuinely helps us continue the work we do, and we hope you’ll continue to be part of the journey as Spectrum grows.

Thank you for understanding, thank you for supporting local, and thank you for helping us prove that coffee really can change lives. Thank you for not giving our staff a hard time over this, blame the government.

Milkybar cheesecake, Ferrero brownies, snickers blondies, Jammie Dodger blondies, and Biscoff brownies all out on the counter in Spectrum Coffee today! We sold a lot today so I’d say defffffff come down tomorrow to make sure you have your treats for the weekend!

Sooooo today I didn’t get to put a cake post up early because we had a super busy morning in Spectrum Coffee 🫣 the toast and jam cookies were done by the afternoon as were the Ferrero brownies! For tomorrow there will be some Guylian brownies, Bounty brownies, Biscoff blondies, pastel de nata blondies (UNREAL), and biscuit tin Rocky Road! Come visit our preloved event and get yourself a lil Sunday treat!

Cake cabinet restocked in Spectrum Coffee this morning! More toast + jam cookies, cornflake tart blondies, salted caramel pretzel brownies, Biscoff brownies, Tunnocks Teacake stuffed cookies, and school cake (which I clearly forgot to take a photo of!)
