We’ve still got one more makers market coming up in September but it’s never too early to think FESTIVE!

Applications are now open for the Mabel Makers Market — Christmas Edition!

We’ll be filling Downham Market town centre with brilliant independent traders, proper food, drinks, live music and plenty of Christmas spirit.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
🧶 Makers + artists
🍷 Food + drink producers
🔥 Hot food traders
💐 Seasonal florists + festive things
🥐 Bakers + sweet treats
🎁 Original, independently produced gifts

Around 1,000 visitors are expected throughout the day, making it a brilliant opportunity to showcase your work, meet new customers and be part of Christmas in Downham.

The bank holiday edition of the Mabel Makers Market is tomorrow!

Some incredible stalls from some amazingly talented people! Come and have a mooch, catch some bands, grab a coffee and a little treat - you deserve it!

The August line-up is here 🧡

Next Sunday, 50 brilliant guest traders are joining us in Downham Market for a full town-centre takeover.

There’ll be street food, bakes, beer, cider, plants, produce, jewellery, ceramics, prints, homeware and all sorts of excellent things made by excellent people.

Plus live music and obviously, plenty of Mabel bread and pastries!

We started Mabel Lates a few years ago not really knowing what it would become. Over the Christmas months it was hit and miss, the terrible weather keeping people inside cosy and warm and honestly, not always worth the extra late night for us.

We decided to do a few one offs over the year. The now infamous funk and soul night when we hosted our first DJs and had 70 people packed into our tiny bakery, the Ibiza Classics evening where you drank the bar dry, not even a sniff of Baileys or the cooking sherry left and so we decided to go ALL IN this summer.

Six weeks later we’ve had live music, vinyl DJs, Board Games, Indie Discos, natural wine, hundreds of Duration Beers, focaccia pizzas and the most brilliant people walking through our door on a Friday and Saturday night.

This weekend is the last one of the summer and we’re going out with a bang.

Friday - Lost Highway and Bill Mathis live in the bakery. You’ve seen them at the Mabel Makers Markets - This will be singalong central!
Saturday - full vinyl set of funk, soul, reggae and chilled beats

More than 50 independent traders. One huge summer market. ❤️

Mabel Makers Market returns to Downham Market on Sunday 30 August, filling the Market Square and Town Hall Car Park with brilliant makers, artists, designers, food producers and independent businesses.

We couldn’t possibly fit everyone into one Reel, so we’ll be sharing more of the full trader line-up over the coming days. Keep an eye on our page and Stories to see who’s joining us.

A little glimpse of summer at Mabel 🧡

We’ve been a bit quiet on the roundups lately, mostly because we’ve been BUSY! 🙈

The July Makers Market was awesome, Mabel Lates have been filling our weekends with DJs, live music and familiar faces and The Sunday Set has given us a new way to spend Sunday mornings.

Summer of Swapsies is in full swing too. Blackberries, tomatoes, plums and all sorts have been arriving at the bakery and finding their way onto the counter. We’ve been out picking plenty ourselves too!

School holidays mean Ada has been along for some of the ride too. She helped us deliver loads of boxes of cinnamon buns to our local firefighters who’ve been working incredibly hard on the wildfires 😍

No Empty Shelves, our summer project with the Swan Youth Project is still going strong, helping to feed young people over the summer - although we could do with a little boost! If you can spare £5, something from the wishlist or even just a share of the original, you’ll find everything in our bio.

There are some new faces in the bakery too. The team is growing and there are some exciting things happening behind the scenes that we’ll tell you about soon 👀

Lots of pastry. Lots of music. Lots of people. Long summer evenings. A few pints. A LOT of blackberries.
