Jumpers and coats at the ready, his owners wanted a good short cut to fend off the burrs as we are firmly in that season and he has a Velcro coat 😄

Nala was back for her second groom today 🥰
She’s a anxious little thing but she has responded so well to being groomed and really just wants a big cuddle ❤️
I also clipped her claws today which surprised her mum but she took it all in her stride and didn’t bat an eyelid 🤗

Flo has been suffering with her ears so I gave them a good clean and clipped away the inside as short as possible to help with air flow ☺️

Yesterday saw the return of an old friend 🤗
Bertie used to come to me for many years but for the past 18 months he has been (understandably) going to a groomer closer to home.
However….Bertie is a complex boy….i worked with him for a long time to win his trust and make sure he was comfortable with the grooming process after he came to me the first time sedated with cautions 🥹
The thing is….i have never been worried, in spite of his vocal protests, that Bertie would want to hurt me and he never did..☺️
But going to a new groomer was hard for him and they have struggled to complete his groom, leading his owner to find me again….and I was more than happy to help 🥰
He arrived with his worried mum who didn’t think I would have any luck….but I think he must remember me because after the initial warnings, he realised he was safe and we got the job done 😍
I’m so proud that he still trusted me, and so happy to have been able to return a fully groomed boy to his owners.
Results like this are what make my job so satisfying ❤️

As a groomer I am privileged to spend time with so many wonderful dogs, but this also comes at a price when their time comes..because I feel that stab of pain and heartbreak too. I love all my extended family of dogs and cats and I find it incredibly hard when I learn that one has passed….😔
I have just been told that just 8 days since I saw Fiia she suddenly became very unwell and has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 🐾
Fiia lived in my village and I have watched her grown up from a pup until this her 17th year. She and her friend Peppi who is no longer with us loved my first Toller Hudson….so we have always had a little extra connection..😢
My heart goes out to her family who adored her….as did I.. 💔
Run free now sweet Fiia….find Peppi and Hudson and they will take care of you now..###

New boy Buddy 🤗
Buddy has some reservations about grooming, especially round his claws and tail 😕
I wanted to keep this a positive interaction where I didn’t use the muzzle his owner brought in with him and I’m happy to say that is what happened..🥹
He let me know a few times that he wasn’t comfortable with what I was doing but with a little reassurance I was able to complete his groom..☺️
It will take a while for the trust to fully happen….but we made a solid start today and I’m very proud of him ❤️

Back today for their last summer clip..! As the weather hasn’t been very cold we went short again to last the coming wet months a bit better 🤗

Monty is relatively new to me after some grooming troubles, but he’s been nothing short of amazing for me and seems to be very calm and happy throughout the whole process ❤️
Nothing makes me happier than winning over a dog who struggled before 🤗
