WORTHING ROTARY CARNIVAL IS TOMORROW!

After months of planning, organising, emails, meetings, forms, phone calls and probably far too much coffee/w**e/beer . . .

WORTHING CARNIVAL IS BACK!

Tomorrow we'll be welcoming you to Steyne Gardens and the promenade for the first of two days packed with entertainment, stalls, food, rides and carnival fun.

Joining us on both days will be a huge array of cosplay characters from Cosplay Allstars, so come meet your super hero or villain.

And if that's not enough...

MONDAY IS PARADE DAY!

34 fantastic entries will set off from Grand Avenue at 12.30pm and bring the carnival right through the streets of Worthing.

So get your weekend plans sorted.

[AD] The Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival returns on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2026, bringing a weekend of great food, entertainment and community spirit to the heart of the Blackmore Vale.

Run entirely by volunteers under the auspices of the Sturminster Newton Rotary Club, the festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and has donated more than £450,000 to local charities and community groups over the past decade.

Visitors can enjoy award-winning cheese and local food producers, artisan crafts, live music, family entertainment, demonstrations, and real ale, c***r and w**e bars. Children aged 15 and under go free when accompanied by a paying adult, making it an affordable day out for the whole family.

Our cookery theatre 'Mary's Kitchen' will this year be focusing on a wide range of different food and drink themes.

This year we are welcoming Mat Follas who won the TV series Masterchef in 2009.
Matt is now a judge on Masterchef and at the Great Taste awards.
He is now focused on making some of the best liquers and spirits from his distillery in Dorchester, under the Mure Liqueurs brand.

Matt will be selling his Liqueurs over the whole weekend and showing how to use them in recipes on Saturday 13th June at 3pm.

Maceration is the first stage of making a 120⁰ Pastis ... I use Fennel, licorice (and a few secret ingredients) and a little wormwood before distilling and a second maceration of the Pastis to transform it into our Bittergreen Absinthe, complete with fairy 😋😎

Research trip is going well ... busy checking for ideas in Sicily this week ... I'll be back next week to
Duck Farm Workshops - Dorchester to post orders on Wednesday and we'll be at the Bath and West this weekend too ... Lauren there on Saturday and be gentle if you come to see me Sunday 😊

Looking forward to the festival season about to start in earnest (always happy to hear of any new events too we can come to)

Well Christmas is coming and it’s time to dust off the traders and the festive mood - I’ll be opening this year on Sunday 16th November in Old Ship Inn Upwey

It’s all about trying what’s on offer this Christmas - the cake, puds, mince pies , sausage rolls, biscotti … the list goes on … enjoy with a complementary glass of mulled juice

Mat Follas will bring Mure Liqueurs including the multi award winning Properly Bitter Lemon (you really should try it)
