Less than 24 hours till the start of BunkFest! Who’s excited because we are! What’s even more exciting is that we will have live music in the bakery on Saturday between 9am and 12pm. Plus for those of you who may have had a bit of a late one of Friday night, we’ll also have bacon rolls for breakfast! See you all there!

A little lunch for the people who make BunkFest happen 🎶

We’re very proud to be partnering with BunkFest this year and with such an amazing weekend ahead, we wanted to say a little thank you to the incredible crew working so hard behind the scenes to bring it all together.

With early starts and long days, there’s so much work that goes into creating such a brilliant weekend for the community and we were more than happy to keep the team fuelled along the way!

Hopefully the sausage rolls, cookies & treats kept you going through the setup this week!

Here’s to another amazing BunkFest weekend, we can’t wait to see you all there! 🎉

Good Morning!

We are open on St Peter’s Street, and shortly in Blewbury too!

The next 2 days are looking very warm, so we may shut earlier than usual, around 2pm, for tomorrow certainly.

We’ve also baked a slightly reduced amount so that us bakers can get out before the hottest part of the day too!

Come and get your goodies early!

Our House & Seeded loaves resting before being shaped for tomorrow’s bake.

Which is your go to?

Mines the Seeded, full of Linseed, Poppy, Sunflower & Pumpkin Seeds.

All made with a mix of White, Wholemeal & Rye flour from Shipton Mill

We’ll be adding some Cheddar & Jalapeño into the mix later in the week too, because last week wasn’t hot enough, we thought we’d turn up the heat that little bit more!

This week is set to be hot hot hot! 🥵

We are going to try to stay open as best we can, so please spare a thought for our team who will probably be ‘baking’ in all senses of the word!

As a result we may well have to close earlier than usual, around 2pm to avoid the hottest part of the day.

We will also be reducing our offering and quantities baked each day this week, so that our baking crew can get out earlier in the day.

The dough and our fridges also doughn’t love these temperatures, so we will be doing the best we can in the conditions we have.

Open tomorrow from 8 in Wallingford and 9 in Blewbury.

See you tomorrow, and hopefully things go back to normal for next week!

Supplier Shoutout!

Here is the lovely Stephane at slicing some of our House Sourdough that he’s now been taking off our hands every morning for a month.

Sure to pair well with his pate’s, cheeseboards and fine selection of wines!

I might on occasion have been caught sampling a glass with a Tarte Flambée; his Wild Garlic Pesto tarte is a fave!

Due to all the hard work and long hours the bakery team have been putting in over the last few weeks, we’ve all realised that we need to take a well deserved break.

Therefore for this week we’re all enjoying the longer weekend the bank holiday brings; and won’t be open in either Blewbury or Wallingford this coming Wednesday.

We’ll be open Thursday onwards and look forward to seeing you then!

Some news.

After our mad opening week last week, we have realised that some things may need to change.

This week therefore we are trialling a 2pm finish in Blewbury.

So this weeks opening hours as follows:

Wednesday to Saturday:
Blewbury Bread Shed 9 - 2 (or sold out)
Wallingford 8 - 4

Friday & Saturday:
Root One, Brightwell 10 - 2 (or sold out)

In other news, the doughnut fryer has been wired up, and doughnuts are back on the menu!
