Another incredible collaboration between The Yellow Teapot and St Andrews Academy's Helping Hands Café! 💛
We were commissioned by a team hosting a conference at Derby University to provide breakfast, refreshments and lunch for 140 guests...our biggest event yet!
Working alongside 11 young adults with a range of additional needs and disabilities, we planned, budgeted, shopped, prepared and served breakfast, refreshments and lunch for 140 conference delegates.
This wasn't just about catering. It was about developing real-life skills in a meaningful way. From managing budgets and food preparation to travelling to a new venue, working in a busy environment and interacting with large numbers of people, every part of the project provided valuable learning opportunities.
The students showed determination, teamwork, resilience and professionalism throughout, and we couldn't be prouder of what they achieved.
At The Yellow Teapot, we are passionate about creating opportunities for young people with additional needs to develop their functional skills, confidence and independence through real experiences that matter.
