Today, the team have conducted a knife sweep on the path, and surrounding green areas, from Greenwich Drive South towards Murray Park School. They were joined by our Public Protection Officer as well as Ndukwe, the local Labour councillor, and our Police Crime Commissioner.
We are pleased that no knives were found during the sweep, however we also joined up to complete a short reassurance patrol around Peckham Gardens, and even spoke with a few residents following the recent incident from this week.

Earlier today, PCSOs Nugent and Collings attended the MECA warm hub and spoke with the lovely ladies that drop in every week for a cuppa, and a catch-up, before attending Markeaton Primary for our weekly mini-police session.

If you have any information regarding anything that has been happening recently within the ward, then please contact us on 101 or use Crime Stoppers to keep it anonymous.

Yesterday, PCSOs Nugent and Collings held a pop-up event at Mackworth library to discuss matters relating to Knife Crime.

Below is a picture of knives that were handed in, a majority were given by our friends at the Daisy Chain Charity Shop which members of the community have donated to them, which they cannot resell.
If you are unsure on what to do with old knives, please remember that charity shops cannot resell these items, instead, you can securely wrap them in kitchen tissue and cardboard before placing in your waste bin, or alternatively if you do not feel comfortable with this, you can hand them in at St Mary's Police Station enquiry office instead.

If you wish to find out more information regarding our Focus Week, you can find PCSOs Smith and Haworth stationed at Park Farm, Allestree this Thursday between 1:30pm and 3:00pm.

| Crime prevention advice issued following suspected burglaries in Derby

We are encouraging residents to please follow our crime prevention advice following a series of suspected burglaries in Derby.

Two incidents have been reported to us in which residents living in houses of multiple occupation (HMO) have had items stolen.

As a result we are encouraging people who live in shared housing and who have locks to their rooms to make sure they are secure when not in use.

We would also like to remind people living in HMOs/shared properties to ensure the main door to the property is shut and locked when not in use.

Residents are also asked to ensure windows are closed and secured when they are not using them.

๐Ÿš“ Safer Neighbourhood Team โ€“ Mini Police Visit ๐Ÿš“

Our Safer Neighbourhood Team had a fantastic time attending Markeaton Primary School as part of the Mini Police programme ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The pupils got hands-on experience supporting officers by carrying out speed checks on Broadway, learning all about road safety, community responsibility, and why keeping to speed limits matters ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ
It was great to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and confidence from the Mini Policeโ€”future community champions in the making! ๐ŸŒŸ

Thank you to Markeaton Primary School for your warm welcome and continued support ๐Ÿ’™

Today the Mini Police students at Markeaton Primary had a visit from our colleagues on the the Armed Response Unit (ARV).

The officers from ARV showed them the different kit that they use and talked us through what makes their role different from other officers in the force. It was a very informative session and the students had lots of excellent questions.

Thank you to our colleagues from ARV for taking the time out of their day to pay the school a visit.
