So....*deep breath*.. this cake was for a joint birthday, and the two ladies depicted here in sugar needed to look just like them.
They had to be wearing specific clothes, one playing a giant carrot like a violin, and one playing a (specific) tennis racket like an cello. Surrounded by a certain brand of tennis ball. On a stone circle atop a scrabble board, behind a particular Stone archway.
I cannot say how many hours this took me, as progress photographs were required, and artistic vision sharpened during the making.
The lady who ordered it was so delighted she wept a little on collection, and embraced me. I then lay down in a darkened room with *some* wine.
I can’t even begin to # this for instagram, ( )
It’s so utterly bespoke.
I’ve upped my hourly rate btw.🤣

Huge Congratulations to Dave and Kathryn,married today and celebrating in the sunshine this afternoon 😁
Ode to Joy is handpainted here onto 2.5 meters of wafer paper 😱and finished with wafer rosettes and a sugar red rose. Fruit cake,carrot cake and lemon sponge.

Have been very tardy updating here. Just in case people don’t care for pheasants, here’s a nice Semi naked Wedding cake all ready for decoration and another order of lovely cupcakes. (with a box for the bride and groom in case they fancy a nibble after the party 🤣)
