🎂 BAKER_BENJY TURNS 2! 🎂
This week, something pretty special happens…
Baker_Benjy officially turns TWO! 🥳❤️
Two years of opening the doors.
Two years of early mornings and very late nights.
Two years of flour everywhere, butter everywhere, washing up that never seems to end… 😂
Two years of baking, creating, learning, worrying, laughing and somehow making it through every single challenge that has been thrown at us.
But Baker_Benjy's story started long before that first day.
The idea began back in 2019, when we first started dreaming about having our own little bakery.
Then came moving to Daventry, working in another bakery, expecting our first little one, and then… Covid.
We were made redundant when Charlie was just one week old.
There were some incredibly difficult moments after that. Times when we genuinely didn't know what the future was going to look like.
But somewhere along the way, the idea of Baker_Benjy came back.
And two years ago, we finally took the biggest leap of all.
We opened our little community bakery.
Since then, we've had to overcome more than we ever imagined.
We've dealt with staffing struggles, rising ingredient costs, rising energy bills, equipment breaking, technology failing at the worst possible moments, incredibly hot kitchens, long days, sleepless nights and weeks where the hours have gone well beyond what any normal working week should look like.
We've had days where we've wondered how on earth we're going to keep going.
We've had moments where walking away would have been the easier option.
But then something happens…
A customer walks through the door.
Someone tells us how much they love something we've made.
A child gets excited about a cake.
Someone comes back because Baker_Benjy has become part of their routine.
We see familiar faces every weekend.
And we're reminded exactly why we started.
Over the last two years we've sold thousands upon thousands of products, taken part in markets and community events, celebrated milestones we never thought we'd reach, raised money for causes close to our hearts, received recognition we never expected and, most importantly, built something that feels like more than just a bakery.
It's become our little second home.
And hopefully, yours too. ❤️
There have been some huge moments along the way…
🏆 Being recognised among the Top 5 Best Food & Drink Producers
🧁 Selling over 1,000 products in just 7 hours at the Daventry Foodie Market
🥐 Creating more pastries, cakes, pies and bakes than we could possibly count
❤️ Supporting local events and our community
🐾 Raising money for B.A.R.K.S. in memory of Salem
🎉 Celebrating birthdays, markets, festivals and countless little moments with you
And then there are the milestones that don't make the photographs.
The mornings we got up when we were exhausted.
The nights we carried on working long after everyone else had gone to bed.
The problems we fixed ourselves.
The times we said, "We'll figure it out."
And somehow… we always did.
Two years ago, Baker_Benjy was an idea.
Today, it's a real bakery, a real community and a huge part of our lives.
None of this would have happened without you.
Every person who has bought a loaf, grabbed a coffee, tried a pastry, ordered a cake, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, left a review, popped in for a chat or simply cheered us on…

Thank you for allowing us to keep doing what we love.
