I have always had a passion for cooking. A small established business specialising in bespoke cakes for any celebration.

As well as bespoke cakes for all occasions, I make artisan jams, chutneys and fruit vinegers, by hand in small batches in in my home registared Carmarthenshire Kitchen. Just wanted to say wow and thank you all so very much for the support and custom you’ve given my little business over the last month’s worth of events.
I’ve temporarily closed the online shop as I need to have a little regroup,restock and a little bit of sleep!!
I’ll catch up with myself over the next few days and will keep you posted. Meanwhile thank you again and I hope you’re all enjoying your goodies.

It’s a busy weekend for The Hen with two amazing events tomorrow.
I’ll be at Cardigan River and Food Festival whilst brother Hen is at Narberth Cheese Festival.
Both a brilliant events showcasing the best local food and drink producers.

Today is Little Black Hens 14th birthday.

Time had flown by and the business has adapted and changed many times through the years. I can’t say it’s all been plain sailing and times are particularly challenging for small businesses at the moment.

But I do have to say thank you. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have the best customers. I know I don’t always get it right, but by heck do I try my best.

So here’s to the next 14 years and the roller coaster life of being a small business owner!!

The sun is splitting the pavers here. Another beautiful day for Marina Market - Swansea. Here from 10-3 today with all my LBH goodies and lots of other stunning food and craft stalls.

Can’t fault the view from the office this morning. It’s another stunner and a lovely day to visit Mumbles Market. Loads of fabulous food and craft stalls. Here from 9-1 today.

Ok some good news and some not so good news……..
The good news is I’ve Tummelberry and boysenberry jams back in stock. Yay!

The bad news is that it’s been a horrid year for farmers and growers and the weather has affected many fruit crops. I’ve enough Tummelberries for a couple of batches but my lovely grower lost his entire Tayberry crop so I’ve no Tayberries at all this year. ☹️

The Tummelberry jam won’t be around for long so please don’t say I didn’t warn you!
