I made a cake! 🎂
It is my parents 40th Anniversary today so I wanted to make a cake in celebration of their Ruby Anniversary. There are exactly 40 flowers in the arrangement 🌷 It is the first tiered cake I have ever done and I could not be more pleased with the result! 😁💐🍰🎉🍾

It has been a while! Due to lockdown, I have sadly had less reasons or motivation to bake 😔 There was also the worry of running out of ingredients! 🤦‍♀️
However my work place was running a baking competition (virtually) which reignited a little spark in me 💥
With a little persuasion, I decided to enter with this cake. I'm still very new to making sugar flowers so I was amazed that I could produce something like this 🌷
This morning, they announced that I was a WINNER🏅to say I was pleased is an understatement, I was overjoyed and beyond excited 😁
Sometimes it pays to put yourself out there!! 💐🥰

First bake of 2020! 🥳 Have been so busy recently so sadly there has been less time for baking :( However time to get back to it!!😆 It's my turn to provide cake for a badminton match so naturally I made three different things! 😋
1. Can't go wrong with the classic Lemon Drizzle 🍰
2. Cupcakes - when I first started baking, I mainly did cupcakes but now I barely do them so thought I'd go back to the beginning! 🧁
3. Something new! Millionaires Shortbread - this was a specific request so I thought I'd give it a go! I hope it lives up to expectations! 🍫

One thing I love about baking is that I get to make special birthday cakes like this one...this was for my lovely Dad's big birthday yesterday, he loves a spitfire so I wanted incorporate this into cake so...Happy Birthday Dad!
