I don't usually encourage people to play with their food, but this cake was definitely designed to confuse people!

Created for a 13th birthday, complete with cake pop nuggets, shortbread fries and a familiar red carton.

The best novelty cakes are the ones that make people stop and look twice before they cut into them.

The real question is... are you stealing a nugget or a fry first?

Cake Party FAQs! 🍰💜

I've had a few questions already, so here's everything you need to know...

🍰 What is a Cake Party?

Imagine a buffet... but instead of sandwiches, it's cake. Lots and lots of cake.

There'll be 15+ homemade cakes in all sorts of flavours. Pop a donation into the giant teapot (or donate online), grab a plate and help yourself to as many different cakes as you'd like!

From classics like vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous flavours like rhubarb crumble and pecan pie, there'll be something for everyone.

💷 Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself and a few pennies to donate! We'll happily accept cash or online donations.

🎟 What else is there to do?

We'll be holding a raffle with some fantastic prizes kindly donated by local businesses, as well as having a few garden games for everyone to enjoy.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Can I bring my mum?

Absolutely! Your mum, your nan, your children, your mum's friend's cousin... everyone is welcome!

Apparently today is World Chocolate Day!

Google tells me that's because 7th July marks the anniversary of cacao first arriving in Europe in significant quantities back in 1550.

I'm not entirely convinced that's true, but I'm not about to argue with an excuse to celebrate chocolate.

So here's a vegan chocolate cake, covered in rich vegan chocolate ganache and finished with a gorgeous stencil design.

Sometimes you don't need loads of bells and whistles. Chocolate does most of the hard work for you.

A slight change from my usual flowers and pastel colours.

These cupcakes were made to celebrate a little boy's first birthday, complete with diggers, dumper trucks, hard hats and his very own construction worker cupcake.

One of my favourite things about cake decorating is that no two orders are ever quite the same. One week it's floral buttercream cakes, the next it's tiny fondant construction vehicles.

It definitely keeps things interesting.

This past year has been a big one.

My first wedding cake,

all alongside more orders than I could have dreamt of two years ago.
