So our first born is 10 in a couple of days that's 10 years of making birthday cakes wow.

As it's the big 10, I decided to recreate the most popular supermarket to go

to birthday cake for kids. I grew up with Colin the caterpillar at birthdays my Mum worked in Marks and Sparks so Colin was always a favourite.

Now I appreciate that shop bought cakes are an option, but I've always believed homemade is best in all ways.

I was lucky to have both growing up my mum is a fabulous baker but there were times when she was juggling I now appreciate that more than ever, so this one's for you Mum and of course the birthday boy.

Animal crossing cake for my son's 8th I enjoyed making it, might take a nap now though it's been a lovely day.
The vanilla sponge is a Japanese bake, I will post a link to the recipe it's a game changer. I put strawberry jam through the middle of the layers and covered with vanilla buttercream icing.

Happy valentine's to my lovely funghi.
The cake is my hubby's favourite lemon drizzle with a hidden toadstool running through the middle, I then finished the cake with lemon buttercream grass, handmade edible fondant funghi and chocolate pebbles.
