Cake Makers Sometimes Get it Wrong, but does that deserve a "poor" review??
Below are three of my cakes....oh baby, 21st and sweet 16.
A customer sent me the oh baby and 21st cake advising she would like a sweet 16 cake similar to these. Her daughter chose the oh baby design.
The sweet 16 cake below is what I sent out. The colour wasn't right which I openly said to the customer upon collection, however she didn't mention anything and said the cake was "lovely" and "beautiful" (ring doorbell caught everything she said).
This morning she has messaged to say it isn't what her daughter wants and requires a partial refund!
I offered to rectify the cake if she brought it back to me. She advised she couldn't, I then offered a 20% partial refund, she refused and threatened that she wants a 40% refund or she would have no other choice than to leave a "poor review".
So I'm leaving myself a review.
We all make mistakes in life, but you have to give people the opportunity to rectify them!
I hold my hands up that the cake isn't the same design as the 'oh baby' but I offered to redo the design in time for her daughter's party.
My taking from this unfortunate event is to make sure both customers and myself know the exact design and for me not to elaborate on that design.
