St. Ives food festival; what an event! Our first one , but definitely not our last . A huge well done to all the Cornish producers in our tent , sand in our shoes but worth it!

All set up on the beach in St. Ives, looking forward to a great food festival

Happy 20th birthday to Vicky’s bread! 20 years ago this week we delivered to 5 local shops, now it’s three vans out every night seven days a week to over 100 outlets but the bread remains the same , hand-moulded , the best organic ingredients and still keeping it slow ! A huge thankyou to everyone who has worked with us , sold our bread and eaten it over the years , you have enabled us to grow and still be here . The biggest thanks of course goes to my eternally optimistic husband Hairy whose idea this was. Here’s to the next 20 years….

Inspired by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s challenge to eat 30 plants a week…. Barberries, flaked almonds and mashed avocados on bordelais sourdough (wheat, rye) . I had forgotten about barberries (tiny bitter cranberry like fruit) but Hairy randomly ordered some on the internet the other day, and they are great for all kinds of recipes, from Middle Eastern stews to just chucking on yoghurt.
