“Learn from yesterday, live for today, look to tomorrow and rest this afternoon”

For each bespoke box order, we gather a few images for inspiration before we start our own freehand interpretation on iced biscuits. This cartoon we found has set the mood for summer! ♥️💛

We’ve said it before, it has been hard going at markets for months - just so many of them in our area now, footfall is therefore sluggish with so many other fun things to do and markets to visit. And not a lot left in the money pot for beautiful biscuits after bills are paid these days. So we’re in Snoopy mode right now, enjoying today, resting a bit and doing a happy dance like Snoopy for all the website orders that keep us busy and that we love so much. Still busy, still baking but just avoiding markets and fairs for a while.

Thank you Snoopy. Thank you to our wedding couples keeping us busy for favours this year, and many thanks to our most loyal customers who believe in our sweet bakes and order from our website for every special occasion.

Tomorrow! We’re setting up on the Conwy Quay with all kinds of sweet summery biscuits. Delighted to be part of Conwy’s River festival, as the town celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Telford Suspension Bridge. Lots of fun stuff to do, to see and to eat here in Conwy this weekend.

Just like Chess…every move with icing must have a purpose. Our iced biscuit work is always achieved with patience, a steady freehand and without shadowboxes or stencils. Always vowed never to speed up a video because how would anyone know how long these biscuits take… but if we kept the real speed Instagram tells us nobody would watch! (these two clips are sped up to 2.5x) - thanks for watching 🤣

This week is National Picnic week, and British Flowers week, and you already know we have biscuits to fit those themes perfectly - but the one that really matters is MEN’s HEALTH WEEK.

UK Charities this week have shared some shocking data, such as every week in Wales, 6 men commit su***de, and that su***de is the number 1 cause of death in men below age 50 yrs in the UK. And it’s sad to think how many people will find it difficult just to say I love you to their Dads on Father’s Day this weekend. The charities have all proclaimed this week - it’s so important to check in, have conversations and ask how the men in our worlds are doing.

Over the past few years we’ve supported , and with donations and we’ll keep at it as much as our small business can because these charities are barely able to scratch the surface. Less than 10% of men who need help are actually receiving help. The other 90% need us all to be there for them.

And our biscuits go a very long way in letting someone know you’re thinking of them. We modified our letterbox range a few years ago to allow you to select the appropriate greeting that sits behind the biscuit. If ‘You are loved’ feels too much/too soppy, you can select ‘Thinking of you’ or ‘Just for you’ on most of our letterbox biscuits. And at just £4:50 for this biscuit packet shown in this post, it might just help brighten someone’s world more than you could possibly imagine. This isn’t a plug for more sales - but just a reminder to keep a listening ear and an open heart for those who might be struggling and who are just too afraid, or stubborn or proud to talk about it. And of course send a biscuit if you think it might make a difference, or pop a box in the office or staff room if you are worried about your team or colleagues.

Most of all, soak in the facts that su***de is the number one cause of death in males under 50 and most of them didn’t receive any help or support. So very sad.
