A little post from me 💕
✨ Firstly… thank you ✨
I’m now into my second year of trading and honestly, I’ve been so lucky to have the most amazing, supportive and grateful customers. Your orders, kind words and recommendations genuinely mean the world to me and help me support my family whilst doing something I truly love 🧁❤️
I did want to share a few little reminders and be open about things too.
💻 A little reminder about booking 💻
Alongside running this little business, I also work 4 days a week for an amazing charity ❤️
Because of that, sometimes dates may not always be available or collection and delivery arrangements may need a little juggling. I will always do my absolute best to accommodate everyone — even if that means roping in very patient family and friends 🥰 — but I really appreciate your patience and understanding with us.
I also spent a really long time putting together my website to make enquiries easier — not just for customers, but for me too — so that I can get back to people quicker and keep everything organised around work and family life.
If you’d like to book a cake, please use the website link that’s sent over ❤️
I completely understand that people often want to chat ideas through and that is absolutely fine — I love hearing your ideas! But it’s really helpful to have all of the information in one place first so we’ve got a good starting point to talk about.
The website usually answers lots of questions too — flavours, toppers, inspiration photos and design ideas all have their own space on there. It helps keep everything together and makes the whole process quicker and easier for both of us 🥰
🎂 What I do (and don’t do!) 🎂
I also wanted to reiterate what I posted yesterday — I am a BUTTERCREAM ONLY cake maker ✨
Fondant cakes are such an incredible skill and there are some amazingly talented bakers out there creating absolute works of art… but I’ll be honest, I’d be terrible at it 🤣 I know my strengths and I stick to what I do best!
The same goes for allergy-free cakes. I’ve tried, I’ve failed, and I never want to sell something that I don’t feel is good enough or safe enough just for the sake of money. My customers deserve better than that, so I stick to what I know and what I can do well.
💸 The reality of small business 💸
I also want to be transparent about the reality of running a small business right now. Ingredient prices and running costs continue to rise and keeping a business afloat during a cost of living crisis is really hard.
Because of this, there will likely be another small price increase in the near future to keep things sustainable. I truly hope all my lovely customers will continue to support me when that time comes ❤️
💕 And lastly… kindness matters 💕
Over the last few months, I’ve noticed more messages coming through that jump straight into “can you do this?” with no hello or niceties.
I know life is busy and messaging is quick, and I never expect essays or perfection — but sometimes it can feel a little disheartening at the other end of the screen.
Please remember there’s a real person behind this page and kindness goes such a long way 💕
At the end of the day, I’m just a girl trying to support her family whilst doing something she loves.
Thank you for every order, every message, every recommendation and every bit of support. I genuinely appreciate it more than you know.
Just please… be kind 🥰
