✨ 'Mary's Voodoo'.✨ - Prune, chocolate and cardamom biscuits
I couldn't sleep last night so I made some cookie dough...I was thinking about New Orleans and how it probably has one of my favorite flavour pallets. French, Spanish and Southern American species 💜 I wanted to create something with deep dark flavours. ... Thus these little beasts.
I've called them 'Marys Voodoo' after the founder of the original New Orleans voodoo scene, Mary Laveau. Despite stigma and the stereotyping, she actually did a huge amount of humanitarian work and was a skilled herbalist.

I am very lucky that my Dad, aka Papa Cornell, is a bee keeper. He has just brought home the latest harvest from a hive on local land. How magic. The bees are likely to have used a lot of borage flowers (my fave) as their main source to gather nectar.
The honey will definitely be finding a way into some new bakes! Watch this space!

✨ Mocha, Meringue and Malteaser Cookies ✨
These little yummies are my new faves! The mocha flavor is delicious paired with the dark chocolate and sea salt tones. The meringue is gorgeously chewy, and due to being baked, tastes like toasted marshmallows, and the honeycomb from the malteasers adds a contrasting sweet treat crunch. Then to top it all off, these naughty naughty little numbers have a gooey centre! Imagine a a decandenr brownie mix 👌
