Let’s face it — weddings are a big investment, and it can feel overwhelming trying to decide where to spend your hard‑earned money.
If you are not sure whether or not to have a big cake at your wedding, you are not alone. I have this discussion often with my couples and I am here to help you work out what's best for YOU.
Maybe you aren't fussed about cake but feel that you should have something for your guests. Or maybe for you the cake is a meaningful part of your day as it marks your first moment together as a married couple, but you are on a budget and want to be sensible with how much you allocate for it. Whatever the dilemma the answer is there is no right or wrong!
Yes the wedding cake is a focal point at the venue and something many guests naturally expect to see, but the good news is you can absolutely honour the tradition without anything extravagant. Here are a couple of simple, beautiful alternatives:
Consider a small dessert table with a gorgeous selection of bite‑sized treats — brownies, tray bakes, mini cakes, cookies — something your guests will genuinely enjoy. Or opt for a single‑tier cake so you still have that special moment for your photos, while keeping things understated and elegant. Another really popular idea is a long rectangle cake, decorated with some fancy piping and a few flowers, perfect to serve with some fruit or compote for desert!
There are so many options beyond a tiered cake, and I promise there is a perfect solution for YOU.
If you would like to learn more, comment or DM me the word CAKE and I will send you my sweet treat menu! 🤍
