Evening all,

As we enter into June we've got a new monthly bake list. As we're taking a week off at the end of the month this list will run until the 20th of June.

We're using UK Summer fruits as they come into season and are having fun with a new savoury twice baked roll.

The 'Carbonara' is a play on the classic pasta dish and it works brilliantly as a savoury filling!

The specials list above gives lots of detail about everything else we're planning to bake in June so I won't bumble on here.

Evening all,

This will be the last week of the May bake list but the Margherita roll will be fine staying for as long as we can get flavourful UK tomatoes.

We love this pastry and hope that those of you who have tried it share our sentiments.
Celebrating all the 'best bits' from a Margherita pizza. We layer up the flavour by filling them with a fresh tomato sauce infused with basil, top that with a parmesan cheese sauce, oven dried cherry tomatoes, fiore del latte mozzarella and lots of fresh basil. We top them off with parmesan sauce and a herby croissant crumb.

Next month we will be leaning in to an Italian theme a bit more. Watch this space!

Evening all, As a Bank Holiday/School holiday approaches we find ourselves with the usual conundrum...... How will it affect footfall?? If there was a crystal ball for these things all of us independent business owners would sleep a lot more soundly!

Because we have been caught out before we are being just a little cautious with our bake this week. There will still be plenty but if you want something specific and can't get to us (relatively) early your best bet is to pre-order.

Both pre paid and pay on collection orders can be made via our website [email protected] which, as always, will be open until 7pm on Friday.

Evening all,

Thanks to the positive response to the months bake list, it means a lot to get so much encouraging feedback. Both the Mango Cheesecake and the Margherita Roll went down very well.

Jonny is back in 'coffee corner' this Saturday which will be a relief all round! Not only does he make great coffee he is also very much part of the team and we missed him.

Although we will continue to post here every week with snipets of news from the bakery our online shop www.rise-bakehouse.uk/orders will be 'fully stocked' with this months bakes and is open for orders every week from 8am Sunday morning until 7pm on a Friday leaving you free to order as and when the mood takes you!

Evening all,

this Saturday brings a new month and with it some new flavours.

Most of the changes are to the sweet pastries with all the details listed in the May specials.

The exception is a Margherita twice baked roll - all that is good about a Margherita pizza encased in a light and airy croissant roll!

We've decided to give wild garlic another month on the savoury side. Although it has a very short season we have, thanks to an abundant source in a neighbours garden, been able to preserve enough to see us through May. This decision also gives us time to work on one or two new savoury ideas we have for the Summer months.

It's never easy fitting new product development around a very tight production schedule!

Finally, as our online orders open on a Sunday we've decided to do our weekly post on a Monday evening. This gives us a little wiggle room with the bake if we see certain products performing especially strongly.

Evening all,

As it's the last Saturday in April this week so we'll be saying a fond farewell to some of our pastries.

We're looking forward to moving into May and onwards towards Summer.

It's always exciting to look forward to lots of new season fruit and veg' coming down the metaphorical tracks!

Our online orders have really picked up a head of steam so thank you to all who have got on board with that.

Evening all,

Our part of Clevedon has felt a bit quiet the last couple of weeks and we're struggling to get our bake numbers right!   

We're conscious that, on top of general economic uncertainty, the 'Easter holidays' do have an impact on footfall so are hopeful of an uptick soon.  

Across all of our processes we pride ourselves on being as close to zero waste as we possibly can so when things are unsold we always find them a home. That said, unsold products have a significant impact on our bottom line so trying to strike the right balance is essential. 

As the schools are still out until next week we're being cautious and baking less this week.  There'll still be plenty to go round but hopefully clear counters by the time we close.

Evening all,

Thanks to all of you who helped us sell out of a bumper bake of Hot Cross Buns last week.

'Big days' at the bakery rely entirely on team work and we have, since the beginning, been incredibly lucky with our team.

Processing, baking and co-ordinating an extremely high volume of orders takes a lot of work.

Special thanks needs to go to Adam and Eloise who, between them, did the most phenomenal job.

Additional and sincere thanks to Issy, Ruby, Sarah, Rachel & Jonny who came in early to help pack all of the freshly baked buns and ensure that we were ready to open at 7.30.
