'Laura, do you think you could make a Spiderman and skeleton cake for Nikos birthday?'....

'I can try!' 😂

It is safe to say that making marshmallow web was harder than I thought it would be 😅 once it was on the cake, that was it..it was on. But I managed to get some of the web wrapped around the skeletons which I wanted.

8inch chocolate cake, topped with blue and red buttercream, marshmallow web!

🏀 30th BASKETBALL CAKE 🏀

4 layer, 8inch vanilla sponge cake filled with jam and buttercream. This cake brings together bold red, black and cream details with a sporty finish, from the slam dunk silhouette to the basketball and trainers on top.

A fun, personalised design made for a very special milestone birthday!

🍾 30th CELEBRATION CAKE 🍾

I'll never get tired of the different designs everyone sends for me to do. And although this one might look simple, it was actually quite difficult. To get the bottle cut and placed on the cake board in the right place so it's slanted wasn't actually that easy (but this could just be me 😂)

8inch vanilla sponge cake, 4 layers this time for the height to be able to get the bottle neck on and the spray/bubbles.

🚨 STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

I’ve recently taken on a new apprentice baker here at HQ.

Meet Daisy. She’s 2. Her qualifications include:

🧁 Pouring approximately 40% of the mixture into the cases
🧁 Pouring the remaining 60% somewhere in the general vicinity
🧁 Quality control via extensive finger licking
🧁 A very relaxed approach to portion sizes
🧁 Decorating with the confidence of someone who has never once considered a customer complaint 😂

This weeks cupcakes were made entirely under Daisy’s expert supervision, and as you can see, she takes her role extremely seriously.

She has requested payment in sprinkles, cake and absolutely no bedtime.

At this rate, I’ll be handing the business over to her by Thursday. 👩‍🍳🧁😂
