I may not be a traditional artist, but I often forget that my cakes are my canvas. I made my birthday cake as a reminder that this craft is my passion and pleasure to create, design, learn and grow as a decorator. I constantly work on improving and trying new things to bring my A game no matter what.
This vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and a silky smooth white chocolate buttercream was a perfectly imperfect reminder of why I bake. Inspired by a little Monet and my love for colour mixing pallettes this had a distinct water colour vibe.
The happiness it brings is so fulfilling, and I must promise myself more joyous bakes this year... what would you like to see?
