Dear all…

You may have noticed that I have been a little quiet on the social media front…

I’ve made the difficult decision to take a break away from baking for customers.

Unfortunately due to a rise in costs in ingredients.. gas and electric.. and just generally the costs of living it’s not worth taking time away from my husband and little boy.

It’s been an amazing journey and I’m so grateful for the support that all of my customers have given me, Bec thank you for your push in covid, helping me set up the business.. giving me the confidence to actually do it and also for the constant advice.. and finally my husband Dan.. your patience, love and support means the world.. and obviously giving me your honest opinion on being chief taste tester!

Last weekend I absolutely had the pleasure of making a wedding cake for Steve and Sarah. A 5 layer chocolate cake, including a layer of brownie with a brownie tower on top.. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Norris ✨

So this weekend I have been working on a new product… Sugar Biscuits!

I had the pleasure in making these for Megan and Adam to ask the special people in their lives if they would join them to be apart of their bridal party.

Each biscuit was topped with a thin layer of fondant stamped with the special question.

Bookings need to be made at least 2 weeks in advance with a 50% non refundable deposit paid in order to secure the date ✨

We have made the decision to now only provide bespoke cupcakes to the general public.. therefore please be aware that should you message asking for a price on a celebration cake then we will politely decline.

We will only provide bespoke celebration cakes to friends and family.

It’s not a decision that has been taken lightly.. my passion is baking cakes however spending time with my family takes priority first and foremost. Making cakes takes up a lot of time.. of which I’m missing out of my little boy growing up.

With that being said I am now taking orders for bespoke cupcakes for any occasion!

Any cakes currently booked in are not affected..

This weekend I had the pleasure of baking for a 30th birthday celebration!

12 vanilla cupcakes with plain buttercream to accompany the cake…probably one of my favourites ever!

2 years ago I opened Lara’s Cakery… its been a whirlwind of a journey.. opening during the first year of covid.. to falling pregnant and having our little boy.. and now I feel its time to reopen! I will be taking on a few orders to begin with to get back into a routine and settle into it! Looking forward to making a special birthday cake and cupcakes this weekend so watch out! ✨
