My oldest niece asked for her birthday cake this year to feature her new Instax purple camera, which she'd had for Christmas. With a little help from my sister-in-law sending me some favourite photos, and Traceys Printed Edible Icing Sheets making them into edible photos, I created this, complete with the camera made from fondant. Everything was entirely edible. Under the fondant, the cake was four layers of mint chocolate sponge and three layers of mint chocolate buttercream, covered in dark chocolate ganache.

Yesterday it was my niece's third birthday...she asked for a cake with a unicorn, rainbow, flowers and butterflies. I think it fits the brief! πŸ¦„πŸŒˆπŸŒΈπŸ¦‹

I had fun making this 40th birthday cake for my brother-in-law, with some of his favourite things...biryani, beer, and (which he is determined to win one day!).

The pint is vanilla sponge with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache, covered in fondant, and the biryani is chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache covered in fondant.

Last month we finally got to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law's 10th wedding anniversary, two years late thanks to covid! I was delighted when they asked me if I'd make their cake. Three tiers of light caramel sponge, Biscoff buttercream and plain and simple fondant decoration.

Wishing a very happy birthday to my littlest niece, Edith, who turned 2 today!

Whilst I'm not baking for business, I'm still busy baking for family and friends and loved making these joint cakes for my Mum and niece. I think Mum appreciated me not giving her age away πŸ˜‚

We had a vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and a chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache, all covered in fondant. I made the rainbow from flower paste 🌈

With it being for a family party and, sadly, having fewer people there due to covid, I'm pleased to say I got to eat a few pieces of cake for a change! πŸ˜‹

My Dad has a few old cars and had two on display at the NEC for the Classic Car show. They were on different stands, but one of them was the 'Enthusiasts of British Motor Vehicles Built Before 1985' stand (catchy name I know!).

Dad asked me if I'd bake a cake for it so, of course, I said yes! He sent me the car club logo, which I had printed in edible ink on icing, and also gave me some car cookie/fondant cutters I could use. When I asked if he wanted a particular flavour cake and filling, he had the brilliant idea of a marble cake so it could look a little like oil. Underneath the fondant, I covered the cake with chocolate ganache for extra indulgence and to keep it more stable than buttercream no matter what the temperature in the NEC was.

Thanks for all the lovely feedback from the EOBNVBB1985 club - I'd never had a marriage proposal as part of a review of one of my bakes before!!

I've not posted for a while as I've been busy moving house and keeping up with my baby who is now crawling and trying to stand up at every opportunity!

Thank you so much to all Little Strawberry Bakery customers. I've really enjoyed making a range of cakes and trying new recipes along the way. I've had such wonderful feedback and so many enquiries from your recommendation, so thank you.

I have moved up to Cheshire and for now I won't be able to take any cake orders until I'm fully set up, registered and inspected up here.

You'll still see my bakes on here, but they'll just be for family and friends whilst I can't trade. This one was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting made for my husband's birthday last week.

Thank you East London for being our home, the place Little Strawberry Bakery started and grew, and for trusting in me to make your special cakes. I hope I can bring Little Strawberry Bakery to Cheshire soon.

What a brilliant first episode for this year's Great British Bake Off. There's some amazing talent already shining through.

Here's an anti-gravity cake I made a few years ago for someone who loves peanut m&ms.

Here's a huge Little Strawberry Bakery thank you to you.

I took a little break from baking for the first half of the year as I became a Mummy. That's my most important and favourite job, but it has also been so wonderful the last few months to get back into baking, chatting to clients, designing cakes and adding an extra special touch to celebrations. I've really appreciated all the follows, likes, shares, comments and orders and I've been overjoyed at the feedback, recommendations and referrals (one order was from someone who wanted a birthday cake for her husband as he'd had four slices of one of my cakes at a party he was a guest at and loved it!). You're all enabling me to grow my little business and hopefully be a great role model for my son.

So, THANK YOU! πŸ“πŸ₯°πŸŽ‚πŸ’•πŸ˜ŠπŸ°πŸ“

It may have been raining and grey, but summer well and truly came to Little Strawberry Bakery this week with aromas of coconut and mango whilst baking this birthday cake.

I love it when a client asks for a different flavour combination and this one will likely become a regular feature. It's fresh and fruity thanks to the mango used in the buttercream and mango curd, and oh so tropical with the cream of coconut in the sponge and coconut buttercream.

We heard Backz loved his birthday cake and even ate some for breakfast!

This week has been Breastfeeding Awareness Week and I had the privilege of making some boobie cupcakes for an event yesterday organised by La Leche League East London.

This organisation helped me this year through some of the most challenging (mentally and physically) and wonderful times feeding my newborn. I didn't receive the support I should have from the hospital or community midwives but I'm so glad I found LLL. They didn't judge when we used formula, they gave me advice when I wanted to increase my supply for expressing, they signposted me to helpful videos for latching my son, they gave me confidence in doing what I thought best when different health professionals were giving me conflicting information, and being on Zoom calls with other Mums sharing experiences and kind words no matter how we were feeding our babies was just what I needed when I was struggling. If I'd known about LLL before my son was born, and had their information from the beginning, we might have had a more successful breastfeeding journey. Raising awareness in the hopes that other parents know there's support if they need it.

Thanks to Karis for taking photos at the event.
