There’s a lot to look at here. The bold green, the gold, the sugar flowers.

Emma first came to me with a striking architectural cake which over the months of wedding planning evolved into this sugar flower explosion.

Emma was such a detailed bride, with a wedding bible armed with colour codes and every minute planned for her marriage to James.

When a couple loves the details as much as this, it seems fitting that their wedding cake also takes hours and hours of detailed creation.

Such a joy to create, I’m looking forward to the professional shots of this beauty.

Ten years ago this week, I left my corporate career and took Cake Daydreams full time.

It had already been my side gig for over 5 years, created around work and family life, but leaving the security of a regular salary to make wedding cakes my full time income was a huge leap.

So, how did it turn out?

Approximately 1012 wedding cakes, hundreds and hundreds of lovely couples, around 61 beautiful venues but I’m sure I have missed some and 1 global pandemic survived.

There have been thousands of handcrafted sugar flowers, countless early starts, many very late nights and an entirely unreasonable amount of butter and chocolate.

Somewhere along the way that little side gig became a successful business, with Graham supporting every ambitious idea I dream up. This year we also had the pressure of creating the most important cake of all, for our daughter Hannah and son-in-law Finlay.

I’m so proud of what we have built and incredibly grateful to every couple who has trusted us with such an important part of their wedding day.

Ten years down, and I’m nowhere near finished yet.

The 2027 diary is open and 2028 diary opens on 1st November.

When I say I get to work with the best couples, I really mean it.

Mollie & Max were an absolute joy from our first conversations about their cake right through to seeing everything come together at Kin House.

I get so invested in each of my couples and their plans, so receiving words like these after the wedding genuinely means such a lot.

Thank you Mollie & Max for trusting me to take your ideas and turn them into something that worked so well with your day.

And “the best cake we have ever tasted”… I will absolutely take that, thank you xx

Every wedding cake begins with a conversation, generally you telling me about your day.

Not just about colours or flowers, but about your story.

For this couple, the design became a collection of meaningful details. The proposal location became the top tier. Their wax seal was reimagined into the monogram. The lace from the bride’s gown inspired the delicate stencil work on the base tier.

These aren’t details you would notice at first glance, but together they create a cake that couldn’t belong to anyone else.

That’s the part of the design process I love most.

I bring my 15+ years of experience, artistry and craftsmanship to bring it all together into one bespoke design.

Set beneath the ruins of Sudeley Castle on the Mulberry Lawn, Abi & James wedding breakfast had the most perfect setting and fabulous wedding cake backdrop

Soft pastel shades and delicate piping echoed the fresh florals, while the setting did the rest.

But my favourite details are ones many guests may never have even noticed the top tier was inspired by the very place where Abi & James got engaged, and the bottom tier the brides beautiful dress.

I’ll share that story in my next post because it’s too special to squeeze into a caption.

When a wedding cake is designed around you, for you, that is truly bespoke.
