What can I say! My girl loves a pickle! I made this cake for my eldest daughter's birthday. She loves a pickle so I had to make her a fun cake , the cake flavour isn't pickle flavour btw, ( even though my Grandson wouldn't try it because he doesn't like pickles🤣) Amy also loves Pistachios so we went with lemon and pistachio sponge with home made lemon curd, lemon buttercream and creamy lemon ganache. Covered in fondant and pickles, obviously! 😂😂. Featuring a little pickle lady chillin on the top. Happy Birthday angel girl! 🥰 ###

“Why are cakes so expensive, it’s just a cake!” I hear that a lot. Today I bought chocolate and cream to make that creamy ganache that everyone loves covered over their sponge cakes. Total cost to buy was £13:10p and that’s just one element of the cake, it ll take me about 30 mins to make. On minimum wage, just to make the ganache it’s nearly £20. One element. That will cover one 8” cake. That’s before I’ve baked a cake! Been and bought the ingredients, boxes, made the decorations, the washing up, the gas electric, insurances , tools. Plus the hours and hours of perfecting a skill.
That’s why your cake is “expensive”
Have a go, make one, you d soon understand a cake decorators battle. 😭. X

A 60th Wedding Anniversary cake. A simple design incorporating the diamond inspiration in the topper and pretty brooch detail in the ribbon.Its been a while since I made roses but I enjoyed creating them. Vanilla sponge cake with buttercream and strawberry jam filling, covered in white chocolate ganache and fondant. Congratulations! Xx

Hey guys! My friends have kept me busy this week. Another Lambeth style cake for my friend Irene s Daughter. Megan chose the pinks and the orange and I was a bit unsure at first adding the pale orange but she was totally right! I Love it! It totally works and will match her party decor perfectly! Vanilla sponge cake with strawberry jam filling and vanilla buttercream. Covered in a lovely layer of white chocolate ganache. I hope you have a fantastic birthday and party! 🥳Xx
