Meet The Maker! I haven’t done one of these before, but I’ve recently booked lots of new gorgeous couples in, so thought this might be a good time - plus, I have been quieter on social media over the past couple of years, so thought I would take the opportunity to touch on that!
This is going to be a bit of a personal post, so not sure how it will go down, but here we go!
I’m Joanna / Jo / Josie / Mama / The Cake Lady, amongst other names! 😂
It’s been a rocky few years since Covid - I got divorced after nearly 20 years of marriage and lost my beautiful Mama after a long, heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer’s. My world was dramatically shaken and for a while there things were pretty tough - hence not being quite so present on social media.
BUT, now, life is soooo good! I have two gorgeous daughters, Floss and Violet, and an awesome step son, Hayden. My partner, Graham, is the loveliest man I could ever wish and my life is filled with so much peace and joy. It truly feels like day and night, and however hard it’s been I wouldn’t change a thing as it’s lead me to the happiest place of right now 💗
I also can’t forget that bundle of fluff in the picture, Tallulah! ❤️ If you are a dog person you will know they are so much more than just a dog!
Now onto the good bit - CAKE! I haven’t always made cakes, believe it or not I was actually a qualified Quantity Surveyor in a past life! Let’s just say building sites weren’t my thing!!
15 years ago I took a leap and took voluntary redundancy - right there, Bunty’s was born. Named after my grandmother, Bunty, whom I made cakes with all the time growing up - there could be no other name. 🥰
Since starting Bunty’s I have been lucky enough to win several awards & accolades, but most importantly I’ve had the privilege to make so many amazing cakes for so many beautiful couples who I am forever grateful to for trusting me with their wedding cake on their big day 💗
I have also worked with so many amazingly talented suppliers and beautiful venues. The wedding industry is full of the best people.
So that’s a bit about me! For all couples - past, present & future, it’s always a gift to be part of your special day ❤️
