So I haven't baked any cakes in a long time due to undertaking a traineeship in the march library learning centre. But as that finishes on Monday (and I start a brand spanking new paid job on Wednesday) I thought I would make a cake to thank the people who I have worked with for the last 7/8 weeks, and this is what I ended up with after 5 hours in the kitchen. This is a very light chocolate cake with Oreo base, a chocolate Oreo butter icing in the middle and on top, decorated with sugar balls and crushed Oreos, with half moon Oreos around the edge. The mini cupcakes are plain, with fondant icing and sugar balls. The larger cupcakes are plain with chocolate butter icing on the top.
