SATURDAY 3rd OCTOBER
AND SUNDAY 4th OCTOBER

Well it’s a busy busy weekend at Blondie B's Bakery
First stop on Saturday 3rd October is Lanark Agricultural Centre with the wonderful Makers & Merchants Markets I’ll be there from 10am-2pm or until sell out.
What are you hoping to see this Saturday on the table? 🍪🍰

Second stop is Holytown General Motors for the wonderful Hoedown all in aid of Breast Cancer Care. This is a ticketed event and is being organised by the fabulous Ann Binks
If you are interested in attending an afternoon of music and laughter with a dose of country, this is definitely a good choice. There are still tickets available and the event runs 1-6pm
Live singing, sparkles and plenty opportunity to get on your feet to show support for an excellent cause and dance the afternoon away.
I’ll be there with a table of goodies for you to purchase and take home for post hoedown treats 🍰🍪

I’ll also be collecting toiletries this week to take to the hoedown all in aid of the wonderful charity glow
If you have any items you would like to donate, drop me a message and I can fill the cake shed in the run up to the event

HAPPY 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY Mr Blondie B. Thank you for allowing me to follow my dreams and create this wee business. 🥰 here’s a wee flashback to our wedding day at Rowallan Castle 8 years ago and a couple of added images. Can honestly say I laughed from the moment I woke up until I went to bed. So much fun was had. 🥰

AUTUMN FLASHBACK 🍁🍂

A little flashback to these cookies from a while back. Absolutely loved making them and I genuinely thought they looked great.

But this was a market that was a total disaster.
From the moment I turned up I should have walked out. There was a lack of communication and complete chaos everywhere.

The “organiser” was practically hiding. She didn’t want to deal with the issues. She didn’t care that there was a scalding radiator right next to my stall. It was the rainiest day too so that halted footfall. Hardly any marketing had been done and the few people who attended followed me on social media and saw me post where I was going to be.

This event wasn’t managed. And I was made to feel like a failure at the end when they came round and said

“You didn’t sell out? All the bakers who have been here before have sold out”

That line…🥺 I’ve heard it a few times from unorganised events and it honestly weighs heavy.
Not every event will be a sell out. And that’s ok. I wouldn’t expect to sell out every single time. 🥰It’s not that I’m necessarily doing something wrong. It could be a number of reasons.
How i manage it is a completely different subject: that’s why im forever grateful to the power of social media for showing my customers what’s on offer. Time and time again, you guys, step up and treat you and your family to goodies from the spares. It doesn’t go unnoticed
I see you all ♥️

I’m so lucky that I get to be a part of some wonderful events ran by the most organised teams. Forever grateful to have them promoting and trusting me to turn out the goods. I’ve also met some exceptional stallholders. The ones who keep you going and are absolutely phenomenal at building each other up. Because as a small business, that’s what we all need.
Support.
