Can't believe Jessica is 12 already.

I vividly remember making her 8th birthday cake when I first started out.

The stylish cake is made from red velet sponges. Filled and covered with a vanilla bean buttercream.
Hand painted in leopard print with lustre dust, buttercream frills and gold and black sprinkles

Kylah turns 18

The brief for this cake was rose gold, glitter, butterflies, champagne and flowers.
This 2 tier cake is made from rainbow coloured vanilla sponges.
Filled and covered with jam and vanilla bean buttercream.
The top tier is painted with rose gold glitter.
The bottom tier is decorated with a rose gold stencil.
The cake is then decorated with all the elements in the brief.

Yesterday was set to be an emotional day for this customer. Her 2 grand children were to be christened at St Paul Cathedral and I had the honour of making their cakes.

The cake for Alexander was made from carrot cake sponges on the bottom tier and vanilla sponges filled with strawberry jam on the top. Both tier had a vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache coatings.
Finished of with a layer of with fondant.
The cakes are adorned with cake balls, ribbons and handmade teddies.

The cake for Thomas is made from vanilla sponges filled with strawberry jam for the bottom tier. The top tier is made from gluten free strawberry and white chocolate sponges ( yes this is normally not done due to the risk of cross contamination, but the customer advised she was happy to proceeded as it was a mild intolerance and was made aware of the risks)
Both tier are covered with vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache.
Finished off with a layer of fondant
The decoration of this cake was a London theme made from fondant details. These were to include St Paul's Cathedral, the London eye, tower Bridge and iconic London vehicles. It also inclused handmade soldiers and a Paddington bear.

Both cakes also had handmade OBE medals on them as a little nod in recognition to the family member who received one from the Queen and made the day possible in this spectacular venue, but sadly no longer with them.

Had lots of fun making this fire engine cake.

Made from yummy chocolate sponges and filled with chocolate buttercream
Carved into its 3d shape and covered in fondant. Finished off with working LED headlights.
