We've all got to start somewhere, and this was my somewhere 😅

My second ever celebration cake popped up on my memories this week and I had to share it.

I learned to decorate cakes during lockdown with a brand new turntable and a lot of enthusiasm.

They weren't great at the start. But every cake taught me something, and I kept going.

In February 2024 I registered as a proper food business, and almost 3 years on I'm making rustic buttercream wedding cakes for barns and country houses around Carlisle, Penrith and the Lake District.

The first cake was for a stunning wedding at Springkell House | Scottish Wedding Venue just a couple of weeks ago 😍

Not everything is perfect first time round.

Faithful or Traitor: Wedding Cake Edition

Calling all Traitors fans planning a barn or country house wedding in Carlisle, Penrith or the Lake District.

Autumn is back and I couldn't be happier about it 🍂🍄

For a buttercream wedding cake in the Lake District, this is the best time of year. As a previous autumn bride myself, I love the change in the colours of the leaves and the cosy vibes you can get from your venue. Think warm open fires and early golden hours 😍

This cake is from last autumn and it's still up there as one of my favourite cakes. It was also at my wedding venue too which made it super special.

If you're planning a barn or country house wedding around Carlisle, Penrith or Gretna next autumn, you're in exactly the right place.

Save this if you're planning an autumnal 2027 wedding.
