The Boys' Brigade is a worldwide Organisation that strives to teach boys important life lessons and skills while at the same time giving them a safe and fun environment to be creative and try out new activities in. The age group of the organisation is wide, starting at 5/6 with the Anchor boys then advancing on to the Junior section at the age of 8. From there they further on to the Company sectio
n at the age of 11 and lastly on to the Senior section at the age of 15 where, from here, they can advance and possibly become helpers and leaders within the company themselves. The 3rd Cardiff has been operating for just over 121 years continuously and we're hoping to carry on for at least another 100 years, if not more. We are the oldest running Boys' Brigade in the entire world and we are very proud that we've been able to bring fun and enjoyment to our youths for such a long time. On a weekly basis we do anything from playing badminton to making and baking pizzas to designing personal football kits and anything you can think of in-between. Usually the night is broken in to two sections, a lesson and then games. The lessons vary from week to week sometimes they will be about important life lessons, such as how to treat fellow people and sometimes they will be taught essential key skills. In the second half of the evening we take the boys in to the hall to play a variety of games. These games are often team based but we do play timed and individual games too. Two of the boys' favourite games to play are dodgeball and hide and seek in the dark. The Boys' Brigade is an open youth club welcoming boys from any and all backgrounds. All we ask is that the boys respect and follow the rules that are set in place, as they're in place for the well being of everyone involved in the organisation, including, most importantly, the boys themselves.
