Part Two.
So cheers all. To those who always said they would come and never did. Friends that never found the time, well. It takes a lot to be that person who goes and tries to live their dreams. It takes a certain type of person and if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. I’ve missed occasions, times with family to never let anyone down. To try my best and show up through grief and heartache at times. If you can be that cheerleader to these mad creative fools, go out and be. We don’t forget you!
So cheers my little shop. You have been a comfort, a constant and a sanctuary. You have been a pain, a worry and stress. But I do love you. I hope you know that when I say hello to you in you in mornings and goodbye little shop at night.
And thanks for sticking with us. We see ourselves as the cake shop no one has heard of or often thinks is new. The shop that schoolchildren admire the seasonal windows but never pass through the doors. Often empty, with Are you open? while we are sweating out the back baking up a storm. Do come see us. Please support us. Times are hard but when little sanctuaries like ours close, the high street changes. Just don’t forget us. We have been at it for 10 years don’t you know. Who could you bring and tell about us? Not many of us can say they have been here for 10 years.
Cheers little shop. And thanks to you!
Cupcake Claire.
