I would describe this as fiddly to make, not hard (or I wouldn’t be capable) but there’s a lot of careful timing that needs to be done with ricciarelli.

I know most reading this will have had one because I’ve been giving them out as Christmas gifts for years. I maintain they belong at the top of the chain for celiac friendly treats. Lemon and orange, fantastically chewy and sweet and often a rare treat.

These brownies are my favourite baked good, I’d make them all year round if only fresh cranberries were easy enough to come by.

They’re my classic brownies, but fresh cranberries take them to another dimension, the contrast of sweet chocolate with tart berries and the warm comfort of orange.

They are the best Christmas Eve treat while you’re cosy under a duvet on the sofa, which is the best spot to enjoy them.

What up. Doings have been transpiring.

I’ve got Christmas gifts in Christmas boxes for you to pick up on a whim, or I can put some in the freezer and you can take them home frozen and defrost them happily on Christmas Eve.

I’ve got cranberry and orange triple chocolate brownies, they’re fudgy and dark which if you’ve had before you know are the bees knees.
I’ve made the same brownies but dairy free for you lactose intolerant sweeties.
There’s orange and lemon ricciarelli for the gluten-free crowd, and later in the week I’m making vegan chocolate shortbread.
A large box takes four and a small box takes two, you can mix and match to your hearts content.

Vegans look away now!

Pictures don’t do justice to the size of this cheesecake, it’s based on a Nigella recipe which automatically means it’s bad for you, as all the best things are. However it was lacking a depth of flavour so the base is made from ginger nuts, and the top is full of lemon zest and juice. Citrusy spicy creamy heaven.

I love cats, I love every kind of cat.

If you’ve been in before and spoken to me you’ll know that we can’t help but take in strays, our last had a short stint with us before she had to be put to sleep. We wouldn’t have been able to care for her without the advice we got from Dove Cat Sanctuary.

These are sold in honour of Mabel, who we loved dearly, every penny I make from these is going to the cat sanctuary to support all the hard work they do.

Sorry guys I am still incredibly sick, and if I find the person responsible I’m going to give them decaf. Hopefully I’ll be better by the weekend but it seems the rest of my family have caught it so I might be caretaking.

This is a cheese and potato pie I made at home. Parmesan in the crust, onions, potatoes, mature cheddar, and a healthy punch of black and cayenne pepper.
I pull this out when I’m having dinner guests, but I’ve been really tempted to make some for work too, so let me know if you think that’s a good idea…
