Everyone loves to have some time off work over Christmas, I wouldn't advise you brake both your wrists to do it though.

I've managed the first week with the help of my family now I'm back home we'll see just how much I can manage myself. So far the kids have been very enthusiastic to help, let's see if that lasts the whole four weeks that these will be on.

Obviously this means all orders have had to be cancelled for December and January so I can heal. Everyone already provisionally booked in the diary should have been contacted, if not I will get to you as soon as I can. It's surprisingly slow typing with just 1 finger. Lol.

I hope to be back to business for February but only time will tell. Hope to know more in January so will keep you updated once I know more.

Please all keep your fingers crossed that I can get back to creating some more great cakes for you.

Think it time you get see yesterday's order in the full.
I can't take the credit for the design unfortunately as it was based on a picture the customer found. It was previously done by The Clever Little Cupcake Company but I have made some changes to make it my own.
It also has the addition of 3 very cute polymer clay keepsake figures made by my fabulous sister.
It still involved a lot of hours making all the details for the cupcakes and top cake and I loved the chance to do not one but two wood grain boards. (Those of you who have followed me for a while will know I love a good decorated board especially wood grain. 😉)

I'm very sorry, I know it's been a while catching up with you all. I'm still here busy baking away and making some lovely cakes.
It's been a busy few months and time just seems to disappear and spending what little I have with the kids is far more important than spending it on here I'm afraid.

Having said that I'd love to show you some of what I've been busy working on over the last few months.
I have also been deep in thought about the direction I wish the business to go in. Things will be changing a bit but will keep you all updated once I've made my final decision don't worry. 😊

I know halloween is all over for another year but had to show this I made for my sisters bday at the weekend.
Just something simple for my first Day of the Dead cake.
Was looking forward to seeing the cake cut as experimented with a 'zebra' stripe inside, not exactly the effect I'd hoped for but the mix of vanilla and chocolate sponge was interesting.

My family don't always get birthday cakes from me but as it was a big one for my mum had to squeeze it in this year.

Needed a bit of help so had a trainee in the form of my sister learn how to make flowers so I could concentrate on my other order last week.

From this I have learnt that having a trainee makes EVERYTHING SLOWER!!!!!!!!!
Think she still did a pretty good job, it was just me that broke them when assembling on the cake. Oops. 😁
I even tried a new carrot cake recipe but think it still needs tweaking to get just right.

First time using this lovely edible lace effect mat on the cake and matching cupcakes.

It was very delicate but I can't wait to use it again. You may see it popping up on some of next years wedding cakes. 😉 ###
