✨ 2024 has been an incredible year but it has also challenged me in ways I never imagined.
With a quieter year ahead, I took on a part time job in the spring.
But balancing my cake business, family life and a part time job became overwhelming.
I often worried about being a good mum, wife, friend, sister, daughter—all while racing through my to-do list.
Being a people pleaser often led me to neglect my own needs, resulting in sleepless nights filled with stress.
Eventually I realised something had to give.
It’s never easy to walk away—but I knew it was necessary for me to step away from the part time job.
I began to pour love back into myself, prioritising my mental and physical health—and with the support of my gorgeous husband and amazing friends (you know who you are!)—I’ve never felt better.
So as everyone is sharing their achievements for the year and goals for the year ahead—remember—social media only shows you the good bits.
Everyone has their battles along the way.
So never compare your life, business, body or family to someone else’s highlight reel! 🩶
As we look ahead, I honestly don’t have any big plans for 2025.
Instead, I’m just excited to create more beautiful cakes for more amazing couples and teach more aspiring cake makers the skills they wish to learn.
For anyone else struggling right now, remember each season of life has its purpose; and each one teaches us, prepares us and leads us to something new and better!
Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉
See you in 2025!
