As you may have noticed, it’s been a while since I last updated my instagram….this is not because I haven’t been making cakes, quite the opposite - every single wedding gets my undivided attention and leaves very little room in my life for much else, especially social media!
Unfortunately, this post does come with some sad news 😞
The wedding industry as a whole has been hit hard in recent times, none more so than us cake makers. With people looking for ways to save money, the cake is one of the first things in the list to cut down/remove all together!
The soaring prices for ingredients/gas/electric as well as other supplies such as cake boxes, fondant, chocolate etc.. coupled with the reduction in people with the luxury of affording a more premium wedding cake has hit us cake makers particularly hard.
Whilst I adore what I do and am so proud of how far my business has come, it’s unfortunately time for me to put my family first and take on another job to help support us through this tough time. That’s not to say Grace & Cake is gone forever….it’s just until things hopefully pick up enough for me to earn a salary that reflects the amount of time I devote to these beautiful works of art.
It is with a heavy heart that I will, therefore, not be taking on any new orders for 2025/2026.
I am looking forward to sharing some of the beautiful cake’s I’ve had the pleasure of making this year, and will begin with this absolute stunning showpiece from June this year when G&V tied the knot at the incredible
