Our Story
Taylors was established in the village of South Brewham in 1945 by the brothers William and Douglas Taylor when they purchased the bakery and store. In 1948 William and his wife Lillian took over and it became W.T.Taylor. In the early 1970s William and Lil's son Brian and his wife Barbara ran the bakery, and by the mid 1980s their son Sean entered the business, having completed his training at Salisbury College. Now three generations of Taylors have run the business, with Sean and his wife Catherine taking the reins in 2007. They moved the bakery to larger, more modern premises in the nearby town of Bruton. Now we are known as Taylors of Bruton and it is in this wonderful Somerset town that we bake all of our products to the highest standards by experienced craft bakers. The majority of our breads are still handmade the traditional way, using the best local ingredients we can source. We produce a wide, and ever expanding variety of products including artisan, traditional and speciality breads, rolls, baps, buns, pastries, scones and teacakes. As well as going to markets and shows across the South West we also supply a number of local businesses via our delivery vans.
