With today being World Environment Day, we wanted to show the challenges local wildlife face as a result of the changing environment.
A large part of what we do is the rescue and rehabilitation of injured birds from the wild - these Barn Owlets are no exception.
In May, the extreme heat was too much for them, causing them to leave the nest prematurely, suffering from heatstroke. Thankfully, they were brought in to our care where we were able to get them cooled down and in much better shape.
In several weeks time, these young owls will be heading back out into the wild, having survived this unprecedented weather with quite the story to tell! 💚
