I'm off on holiday tomorrow so a brief hiatus in the cakery (normal service resumes from Monday 1st June), but here's lots of the baking I've been doing recently for all the many May birthdays. Also featured here is the stunning apple and pecan cheesecake my other half made me for my birthday - he absolutely excelled himself this year I would say! 🍏

Looking slightly ahead, I will be at Brighton and Hove Soiree Rotary Club Big Family Festival in Hove Park on Sunday 7th June, then at Brighton Open Market on Saturday 13th June. Hope to see you at one or both of those if you're local! 🎪

Once again I haven't shared much of my recent baking lately, though I have been making plenty, including a fair few items outside of my usual wares. Examples of that sort of thing include a traditional fruit cake complete with marzipan and fondant icing; a blue Victoria sponge for a rainbow party (see also my customer's picture of the full rainbow of cakes made by various family and friends); a Charli xcx 'brat' cake (ie lime green!) for a baby shower; and a 2-tiered cake consisting of coffee and walnut at the bottom and pistachio and raspberry on the top, with lots of edible glitter too - very sparkly cake! ✨ By the way I really love when my customers send me pictures of the cakes I have made for them (especially with added candles or toppers etc) so please do feel free to do so!

I'll be back at Brighton Open Market this Saturday (9th May) with plenty more of my regular items - hope to see you there. Come hungry for cake! 😋

Somehow it has been 2 months since I shared any of the baking (apart from stalls) I've been doing, so here is a BUMPER round-up! 🌼 4th market of 4 in a row today - it's all go with Paper Daisy Events in Jubilee Square (by the library). I'm handily placed right by the coffee stall so you can get yourself a hot drink to go with some of my baked goods. As always you can bring your own container for cakeaway from me, and I'm sure you could do the same for the beverages. There's also loads of other very talented makers and creators here - there's jewellery, terrariums, teas, soaps, paintings and prints, mushroom growing kits, cushions, homewares, clothing and more.

It's forecast to be rather windy later so we may be closing up around 4pm (officially meant to be until 5pm). I advise coming earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment! 🍰

Big news! The BRAVO Award results were announced this week and I am SO chuffed to have finished in 9th place!!!! Thank you so much all who voted for me, it really means a lot and I appreciate every single vote I received. As a literal sole trader without even a bricks and mortar shop front I genuinely didn't expect to place so high, as there are many other extremely talented sweets and treats makers here in this town. I am super delighted and absolutely buzzing. Thank you also Restaurants Brighton for all your hard work in organising these awards! 🎉

Still working on that cake round-up from the last 6 weeks or so... I promise it's coming soon! Meanwhile, if you're in Brighton this weekend come on down to Brighton Open Market tomorrow (Saturday 4th) and buy some of my wares, I'll have plenty of Easter specials for you. Yet again I have been doing lots of baking but failed to share any of it for aaaaages! Big round-up post coming soon, for now I am here to say that I am at Brighton Open Market today (Saturday 21st) til 5pm. I've got my Easter specials already because....well...I love Mini Eggs!
