Rebello Bakery We are an independent shop&bakery, deli, grill, mobile Pop-Up and event caterer based in Bridgwater There is convenient parking outside.

After proudly serving the Bridgwater community for over 100 years, the revolutionary bakery was recently renamed Rebello. Symbolising the team’s passion for real, honest, high quality bread and food. Always hand-crafted with locally sourced ingredients ensuring a low carbon footprint. a bit of rebel! Rebello makes real bread and food that requires a high degree of craft skill, it takes longer, but ensures unique hand-baked goods that avoid the faster factory production processes and use of chemicals and preservatives. Rebello is proud of its ancestry and how its home town of Bridgwater was the site of the last armed rebel uprising in England (the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685). Rebello captures the insurgent spirit by never following the crowd and always doing things their own way. The Rebello Bakery and shop is located just off the Drove, on Boards Road (2 Kings Castle – TA6 4AG).

Dear Lovely Customers, Rebello is now fully focusing on its Vending Machine Services and will no longer be providing its Pop-Up Bakery, Event and Shop Services. We are currently in discussions with another business provider who is looking to take over these old aspects of the business, and we will make the necessary introductions to you.

Rebello’s Vending Machine Services (fully serviced workplace vending machines providing snacks, fresh coffee, hot drinks, cold drinks, manufacturing consumables, etc) is available throughout the South West. If your workplace or community organisation is not currently receiving this service but would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact us.

THE ORIGINS OF REBELLO

We are an independent craft bakery, deli and grill catering business located in the South West of England in the town of Bridgwater, Somerset.Established over 100 years ago, the foundation of our business was as a bakery, and since that time we have diversified to meet a range of customer bakery and catering needs.The team at Rebello are passionate about real bread and food, produced slowly, without the need of chemicals and preservatives.

In 2020, our business rebranded to the name of Rebello. Over the years the business has traded as other names including in 1905 as Perrett’s, Johns’ or The Glen Stores (1920), Hawkins’ Baker and Confectioner (1930), Hill’s Bakery (1964) and Judith’s Bakery (1988).

Rebello is the latin word for I revolt, I wage war. The name Rebello was chosen as it is a nod to our passion for real, honest, high quality bread and food, made with ingredients sourced locally with a low carbon footprint wherever possible, and how to produce such quality product requires working harder and with more heart… you need to be a bit of rebel!

The processes for real bread and food (without the use of chemicals and preservatives) requires a high degree of craft skill and takes longer (slow bread and food production) which is very different to factory produced product with faster production processes and utilisation of chemicals and preservatives.
