A few of us felt that it would be good to have a way to support each other in Pencoed - a chance to ask "silly" questions or let off a bit of steam over a cuppa, particularly for families new to the area or when your kids are reaching milestones. If you can't find a park, are puzzling over nursery enrolment, want to swap ideas for amusing the kids over the holidays or just want to have a hot coffe
e and talk to an adult for a change, you are very welcome to come along, whether your kid(s) are 20 months or 20 years old, or you've just had the 20 week scan. David's are hosting us this is not a "church thing", just local parents getting together to support each other and trying to make sure no-one has to feel they are "the only ones" going through the trials of family life. Pencoed is surely big enough that between us we can point each other in the in the right directions, or towards someone else who knows. If we find there are common questions or concerns we can invite the relevant professionals or authorities along to fill us in or discuss things with us. We're kicking off on Wednesday 4th October from 7:30pm until about 9pm, then the suggestion is to meet on the first Wednesday of each month. This isn't a club and you don't have to come every month - if you're a parent or guardian you're already welcome as and when it suits. There is no charge, although you are welcome to donate some change to the tea fund if you want to (or bring cake!)
