Cedars a was established in 2012 by Jill Williams (owner and founder); a lifelong lover of vintage china and excellent food, Jill chose to start a tearoom that would allow her to indulge both passions. BEAT believes both in supporting the local economy and in having the freshest ingredients possible, so we focus on sourcing local suppliers our eggs are from Heol-y-cyw, Milk and butter is supplied by Ty Tangwlst Porthcawl, our coffee is supplied by a number of Welsh roasted from Durstons, Hard Lines, Coal Town to mention a few. We use many local producers we try our best to showcase the best of Welsh food and drink businesses. SUSTAINABILITY
At BEAT we are committed to lowering our environmental impact, thats why in 2018 we recycled over 85% of our waste. All of our takeaway cups, lids, cake and food boxes, straws, cutlery even our crisp packets are 100% compostable or fully recyclable. We've also decided to remove all single use plastic in house, that means no chocolate bars, straws and cling film. These small changes will make a big difference to a greener business. The original Cedars was established in 2012 by Jill Williams in Bryngarw Country Park, Bridgend; a lifelong lover of vintage china and excellent food, Jill chose to start a tearoom that would allow her to indulge both passions. Her daughter, Hollie Williams joined Cedars shortly afterwards, bringing her talent for baking and cake decoration to the business, and the tearoom expanded its services to include afternoon teas and bespoke cakes.
