Cedars a was established in 2012 by Jill Williams (owner and founder); a lifelong lover of vintage china and excellent food, Jill chose to start a tearoom that would allow her to indulge both passions. And now the business has grown, its a proper family run establishment with the same passion for good food and traditional standards. LOCAL INGREDIENTS
BEAT believes both in supporting the local economy and in having the freshest ingredients possible, so we focus on sourcing local suppliers our eggs are from Heol-y-cyw, Milk and butter is supplied by Ty Tangwlst Porthcawl, our coffee is supplied by a number of Welsh roasted from Durstons, Hard Lines, Coal Town to mention a few. We use many local producers we try our best to showcase the best of Welsh food and drink businesses. SUSTAINABILITY
At BEAT we are committed to lowering our environmental impact, thats why in 2018 we recycled over 85% of our waste. All of our takeaway cups, lids, cake and food boxes, straws, cutlery even our crisp packets are 100% compostable or fully recyclable. We've also decided to remove all single use plastic in house, that means no chocolate bars, straws and cling film. These small changes will make a big difference to a greener business. The original Cedars was established in 2012 by Jill Williams in Bryngarw Country Park, Bridgend; a lifelong lover of vintage china and excellent food, Jill chose to start a tearoom that would allow her to indulge both passions. Her daughter, Hollie Williams joined Cedars shortly afterwards, bringing her talent for baking and cake decoration to the business, and the tearoom expanded its services to include afternoon teas and bespoke cakes.

That’s a wrap for another year at Beat, and once again to everyone who’s walked through our door and supported us we thank you enormously!
Small business like ours survive from the loyalty that you all show day in day out. From buying our daily baked goods, a cheeky coffee to jumping on our first ever merchandise launch! Cheers…

But we have a surprise to share, for those who swiped right you may have guessed it but Beat is about to grow, we’ve been keeping things as secret(ish) as possible. We’re super excited about giving our little store some much needed space.
But where are we moving you ask… we’re not! Keep your eyes peeled for the updates on our social media in the new year.

Great news to all you festive lovers, Beat will once again open our books for the Christmas Eve preorder, with a range of our core pastry products and some seasonal additions.

Below we have a list of all the items available to order, from some of our core pastry products to a selection of Christmas limited editions. This year we will have 20 spaces up for grabs, when they’re gone… they’re gone!

SATURDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

To all our faithful followers, we’re just posting a quick update to announce that this Saturday 1st November Beat will be closed to attend an event.

Well back open as usual on Monday 3rd when we’re be launching the brand new merch site for preorders of our new apparel along side some other fun bits!

You’ll find our almond croissants being served at the open In Brynmenyn if you’re hungry for the good stuff!

Annual chocolate egg day is here, we’re just dropping a quick post to update all you lovely people on our opening hours for this Easter bank holiday, Keep your eyes peeled for the additional treats hitting the cabinet for the bank holiday weekend too:
