Before the pretty decorations, there’s a lot of precision that goes into creating the perfect foundations.

Trimming each layer, adding the filling evenly, stacking everything carefully and making sure every layer is level.

It’s these little details that make such a difference to the finished cake — and honestly, there’s something very satisfying about watching it all come together! ✨

The foundation has to be right before the decoration can begin. 💕

Every petal is individually rolled, shaped, thinned and carefully arranged by hand. It takes patience, precision and plenty of time to create something that looks effortlessly delicate.

These are the little details that make a bespoke cake truly special 🤍

Starting your own bakery sounds romantic… and honestly, it is. 🤎

You get to wake up every day and do something you genuinely love. You’re your own boss. You make the decisions. You build the brand. You create the cakes. You choose the direction.

You’re also the baker, decorator, cleaner, accountant, photographer, social media manager, customer service team, delivery driver… basically the entire staff. 😂

And yes, sometimes that means working 7 days a week.

But when you’re building something that’s truly yours, it doesn’t always feel like work.

It’s hard. It’s exhausting. It’s sometimes completely chaotic.

But I wouldn’t change it. ❤️

🧜‍♀️✨ BOXING UP THIS MAGICAL MERMAID CAKE ✨🧜‍♀️

A little peek behind the scenes at this beautiful fondant mermaid cake before it headed off to its celebration! 💕💜

Airbrushed in gorgeous shades of pink and purple, then finished with handmade details including mermaid tails, starfish and shells created using silicone moulds. 🐚⭐️

We added delicate reeds and rice paper sails to create extra height and bring the whole underwater theme to life. 🌊✨

I absolutely love how all the little details come together to create a cake that feels completely unique to the celebration. 💗

🎂 A little availability reminder: our fondant cake diary is more limited than our buttercream availability, as these designs take considerably more time to create.
