Brewed this a couple of months ago, it was supposed to be a marshmallow flavoured imperial stout, toasted some cacao nibs and soaked them in bourbon along with a couple of split and scraped vanilla pods, added them when it finished fermenting, then I got some marshmallow flavouring used for cakes etc which I dosed in very small amounts to try but I didn't like it- very artificial tasting so I left it alone till I figured out what to do with it.
Then I stumbled across and colab Norse Star in Morrisons and on the label it read cacao, vanilla and almond imperial stout, so that was the light bulb π‘ moment, looked for some almond extract but couldn't find any local so decided to use amaretto-an almond liqueur, dosed it up till it tastes right, there wasn't enough vanilla either so I added some vanilla bean paste.
Weighing in at 10% abv, this will hopefully be a lovely viscous imperial stout πππ
