Another special one for the books 💙🌿🍷

This cake was made for a gentleman turning 90 – a little nod to his previous ownership of Hughes Family Bakers, gardening and a good glass of wine. Complete with a freshly “mowed” 90 in the grass! Handcrafted out of icing and 💯 edible.

I’ve been lucky enough to make quite a few 80th and 90th birthday cakes recently, and it's always a privilege. There’s something really lovely about creating a cake for someone who’s lived such a full life 🤍

I’ve just got back from a lovely week in Wales…yet my customer needed this 80th birthday cake for this coming weekend. I made it and she collected it before I even left. How?

Because it’s a fruitcake! 💡

Baked with brandy and sealed under a layer of marzipan, it keeps beautifully — so it was the perfect choice.

I don’t get asked for fruitcake very often (even though it’s one of my personal favourites 😋), but I’m always happy to make them when I do!

Each flower is handmade from icing and took several hours to create.

Wishing the recipient a wonderful 80th birthday! 🎂🌹

💎 Every cake tells a story 💎

I've always said this about my cakes. The lovely story behind this one is that the couple never had a wedding cake 🙁 So it was all the more special to finally have one after a whopping 60 years of marriage!

The cake was vanilla sponge filled with jam and buttercream and made without gluten.

I was literally running up that hill to make this one, I've wanted to create a Stranger Things cake for ages!

The majority of my cakes tend to be cute and pretty...so it was fun to make something a bit more sinister for a change 😆

I've watched the first series but need to watch the others, I'm possibly the only person in the world who hasn't watched them all 🙈
